Pro Tips

  • Grumpy Ginger: Not too much! Its really concentrated
  • Protein: Cubes for max flavor absorption, but whole pieces are fine too!
  • Water: Use less water and more coconut milk for a thicker consistency
  • Coconut Milk: Add after chicken is cooked. Adding too early will thin out the consistency
  • Veggies: Add once chicken is cooked for a crunchy texture or add earlier for a softer chew

First Time Trying Malaysian Curry!

I bought 4 jars of Grumpy Ginger's Spicy Malaysian Curry, and it was amazing! I just followed the instructions and added some chicken/bell peppers/onions/garlic. And *Chef's Kiss". The coconut milk added another layer of toasty flavor -- can't wait to make more! It's very reminiscent of Thai curry too (for folks who have never had Malaysian curry).

MUST TRY!!!

So much flavor!! Had not had Malaysian curry before this, but will definitely be buying more Grumpy Ginger. Super easy to make. Can throw whatever protein/veggies you want in. Takes ~20min to prepare. Definitely worth giving a shot, great for date night or family dinner!

SO. MUCH. FLAVOR.

First-time curry-maker here! This was a great way to incorporate something different and fun into our dinner menu, and we had a great time making it! We were warned that less is more with the curry--so just added some onion and peppers with the potatoes and tomatoes to the curry--it was amazing! I topped it with cilantro and green onion served on top of white rice. The three of us kept going back for more until it was all gone! The sauce is to die for. Coming from someone who generally doesn't go for spicy it was the perfect spice level--just perfectly between too hot and mild and so flavorful.

Nostalgia

It's so hard to find authentic Malaysian cuisine in America/NYC - and this curry really hits the spot for Nostalgia! It's really easy to prep and cook, especially when I'm busy with work/life. I would recommend the Spicy flavor as it's closer to home. Often times when I explain to my non-Malaysian friends what the food is like, it's a little challenging. Hopefully this will change that!

BOMB-diggity

This curry is DELICIOUS, and more importantly, idiot proof! I am constantly busy, juggling work/friends/family/exercise and end up eating way too much pre-made food or cold sandwiches... I am always looking for something easy, delicious and nutritious to make and this is it! Literally just add water, coconut milk and whatever meat/veg you want and you have an amazing home cooked meal! It also keeps great and I usually make a big batch and eat for the rest of the week. TRY IT!
